Fall for ladies means we must all love pumpkin spice lattes and now it is associated with a phrase that makes me cringe, "basic bitch."
Does this phrase upset any other women? Drinking lattes you enjoy shouldn't define who you are with such harsh terms.
As women, we are often summed up into a few words, good or bad, that in no way could describe who we are as individuals. Women could be pretty, bossy, ditzy, submissive, weak, emotional, adorable, popular, driven, hot, intelligent, creative, kind hearted, and the list of dirty words I will not type on the Internet. We are a long list of adjectives and no self respecting women would want to be summarized as one or two, especially not this negative phrase that has become way too main stream. The fact is none of us are basic, or mediocre, women. We are each strong, beautiful, and brilliant in various ways and we work hard to achieve the things we set our minds to.
Madeline Albright was absolutely correct, there is no room for mediocre women. In today's world, there is no room for "basic bitches" either. Drink all of the flavored coffee you need to work hard at what you do. You are far from mediocre. Go prove it.
