How I spent 2017 -

- Learned how to make origami cranes and have made around 100 cranes so far
- Got my first passport and traveled internationally for the first time
- Snorkeled in the ocean (and only cried once)
- Earned a new position at work and learned an entire new skillset for it
- Spontaneously got a new piercing
- Signed up for a library card (and thanked a librarian for her work)
- Read 36 books, which is three times the amount I read last year, including many graphic novel series, my first Joan Didion, and my first Virginia Woolf
- Healed a stress fracture!
- Implemented a new workout schedule to maintain my health
- Played with writing in a haiku format
- created a new tumblr account for fun
- Met one of my favorite writers and walked around my favorite bookstore with her
- Cut the hem off three pairs of pants to make them the perfect length for me Started jotting notes in a Hobonichi planner
- Loaded a roll of film in my 35mm camera
- Nurtured my friendship with my dad
- Intentionally tried to learn more about feminism, started shaping what feminism is for me, and proudly started calling myself a feminist
- Stood in awe of my first eclipse
- Decided to try bangs again and didn’t hate them immediately
- Instead of picking a word of intention for my year, like I normally do, I did my best to implement a DGAF attitude and was so much happier
- Endured my first root canal
- Had more fun shopping in second-hand clothing shops than anywhere else
- Treated myself with a new leather bag
- Made 10 dozen of my favorite cookies from scratch to share with friends and family during the holidays
- Confidently wore a sequin dress, twice
- Filled 8 Field Notes
- Did not blog in 2017, breaking my streak of six years, and I loved the break
