This photo was taken for my parents after tonight's spin. But, a few hours later I looked at it again and it made me smile even bigger than I am in the photo.
Last Saturday, B helped me find a couple of cycling shorts and this Mellow Johnny's jersey. Even though I'm on a stationary bike for now, my new kit makes me comfortable to ride, motivated, legit, and like I'm making baby steps into the cycling community (finally).
Spinning allows me to feel tough like I haven't felt in years. I'm enjoying sweating, pushing myself to pedal harder, or pushing myself to spin for just a few more minutes. I'm already competing with myself to raise my RPM and my distance over time. When I'm a few minutes into my ride and my legs are warm, I find a happy zone when my movement feels unstoppable. The happiness sticks with me for hours after I've finished my ride. (B even noticed me just standing and smiling while waiting for our elevator.)
Two weeks in and I feel so good.
(This cap was stolen from B. He'll have to keep a close eye on some of these accessories!)
