In my early twenties, I received valuable style advice from a mentor. Her style is consistently fun and unique to her personality, and I admire her for that. She always looks put-together and comfortable. One day at work, I asked how she created her style and how she decided what to buy and where. She replied, “I go for whatever I like, whatever fits, and whatever is comfortable.” I’ve never forgotten this. Many frustrated mornings when I think “I have nothing to wear,” I like to test myself by using the three whatevers to choose what to wear. It’s an easy solution because I know that during the day I’ll remain comfortable no matter what. My theory is that when you dress with these three ‘whatevers’ in mind, you’ll be happy and confident with whatever you choose.
