I crossed off another book from my list last week; I finished reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
This is the first fiction book I've read this year, and I'll admit that in the first few chapter I found myself struggling to imagine every detail Coelho was describing. My brain has been so use to non-fiction and self-help. It was a nice change to read fiction, which now has me searching for my next fiction story.
Even though I was slow at first, I got hooked into the story quick enough and enjoyed it very much.
It's been over a week since I finished the book and I've noticed myself still thinking about the characters and pondering the many messages. There was so much to learn and takeaway, so I know I'd like to reread this book in a few months to gain a deeper understanding.
The Alchemist seems like one of those books that comes into you life at a critical time, like your new favorite song that some how knows exactly what you're going through and can help motivate you too.
Now, I'm (finally) reading Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott.
